Estuarine
Out of the sunburst, and summer,
comes Autumn to haunt.
The sea is up, waves are high,
there's mutiny in the air.
Tossed seaweed and sand
down the front.
Most days now are occluded, misty,
but the sun breaks through
on occasion.
We are in the season of
fruitfulness,
but the darker evenings
bring a sense of weary tiredness.
How I long for the
coal fires of Durham.
